Category : Cross-Sectional Surveys   17 June, 2000

Health and Family Planning Accessibility (HFPA) Survey was conducted as part of the 1996-97 Pakistan Fertility and Family Planning Survey (PFFPS). The principal objective of the survey was to examine the extent of coverage of family planning through health and family planning facilities. The survey was carried out in 295 geographical clusters of the PFFPS, out of which 120 clusters were in urban and 175 in rural areas. Under the HFPA Survey, an inventory was made of all the health and family planning facilities and staff, within a radius of one kilometer in urban areas and five kilometers in rural areas. All facilities, including medical practitioners, Village Based Family Planning Workers and Lady Health Workers were visited to ascertain the precise nature of family planning services on offer.
