Choice of Method and Drop-outs in Family Planning

The study was undertaken to know the reasons why respondents prefer a particular contraceptive method and why they drop-out after using a method. Also, the objective was to find out the factors, due to which the acceptors completely drop-out from using any family planning methods. The study was carried out in five districts of Punjab and NWFP. In all 22 FWC were visited and a sample of 1929 clients was drawn using FWC's Registers and Clients Record Cards (CRC) as a sampling frame. These clients were later followed-up at the given addresses.
