Population and Family Planning Indicators - Findings of Contraceptive Prevalence Survey in 12 Large Clusters, 1994

The Population and Family Planning Indicators project was started by NIPS in 1992, with the objective of assessing and improving population and family planning indicators such as, crude birth rate (CBR), crude death rate (CDR), rate of natural increase (RNI), total fertility rate (TFR), total marital fertility rate, mean age at marriage, singulate mean age at marriage  (SMAM) and contraceptive prevalence rate (CPR). Another purpose was to experiment dual system of data collection on vital events on sample basis.
