In 1993, National Institute of Population Studies (NIPS) conducted a study, The State of Population in Pakistan. In this study, an attempt is made to highlight various aspects of Pakistan's population in a comprehensive form. This book describes the population size, its growth and composition by age and sex, levels and trends of fertility and mortality, population distribution and other socio-economic characteristics of the population of Pakistan and the changes which have occurred over time.
